MTV Changes format for ‘Punk’d’ Reboot

By Ashley Arpel

Ahh 2003. The year of trucker hats, Paris Hilton, and Justin Timberlake’s departure from N’Sync. Just when we thought the year was going to be one to forget, Ashton Kutcher came along. Mostly known from the hit comedy program, That ‘70s Show, Kutcher took the MTV world by storm with his hidden camera series Punk’d. Unfortunately, the show was scrapped in 2007, leaving viewers hungry for more jokes pulled on their favorite, and sometimes not so favorite, celebrities.

Woe is no longer we as MTV has rebooted our beloved prank show. Things are a little different this time around as Mr. ex-Demi Moore will no longer be the series’ host. Now, a slew of guest hosts will appear on the half hour show, and viewers can watch as they orchestrate their own pranks on friends. Kutcher will serve as an executive producer. I don’t know about you, but I am pretty excited for the return of Punk’d. Maybe if enough people get excited we can persuade Ashton to do a guest appearance? Here’s hoping!!
